Centre of Kazakh Culture in Austria “Tengri”
The wish of a human to knowledge is internal. We become to know the world; ourselves, own history. And only the sky over our heads is the same for everybody, the earth is inhibited by people who are different in their traditions, merits, dreams….
The Kazakh Centre in Austria “Tengri” is a non-commercial fund, which was created as a place where Europe meets Asia.
Lev Gumilev wrote, “The category of “ethnos” existed always. The word “ethnos” was used by Gomer in “Illiada”, by king David in “Psaltery” and by Aristotle”.
Ethnos, according to Gumilev, is a real category, which allows separation according to definite factors of a group of people; which plays a role in history as a big closed system with a definite dynamic stereotype of behaviour and original internal structure, which changes according to the time of life of the ethnos – this is a phase of ethno genesis. Ethnos, which moves in time, tries all the time by changing of its behaviour to extend the area of its participation on the historical scene.
It is not difficult to find information about Kazakhstan. The Republic of Kazakhstan is a Euro-Asian State, which is situated in Europe and in the Central Asia. In north and west it has borders with Russia, in east with China and in south with Kirgizstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It stands on the borders of Caspian- and Aral seas.
The number of kilometres from its south to the north borders, of cause, is impressive, but does this information allow understanding of this country and even more, to love it?
The Austrian Centre “Tengri” and its Kazakh mirror “Der Himmel” represent an opportunity to feel the culture, to touch its routs and to get to know its faces.
The program of the centre will include following events: concerts and exhibitions, charity auctions, exchange of talents.
The support to the children will not be limited only to charities for children homes but as well as support to talented children which will actively participate in the activities of the centre.
We speak about past and present to make the future more light. The legends, ethnos, traditions and merits will become a matter of attentive studies made by the centre and will result in television programmes and movies on Kazakh and German languages which follow the initiative of the centre on the mass level.
One of the first steps of the centre will be “The Kazakh Seasons in Austria”, which will take place first time in the residence of Hofburg in Vienna.
The centre will become the place of meetings of artists and poets, businessmen and politicians, all people under the sky of Eurasia.
The next after the first concert will be presentation of the centre in Alma-Ata and Astana. The program of Ethno-centre will be developed and already in the nearest future it will be possible to speak about a new tradition which, according to the plan of its creators, will become an integral part of the spiritual life in both Austria and Kazakhstan.
